National Peanut Board
Little Peanut
Meet Little Peanut. I concepted this plushie from the very beginning, taking it from early sketches to full design development and final production. I explored multiple creative directions to help the National Peanut Board choose the strongest approach. Once the client aligned on the concept, I partnered with our creative director and the vendor to bring it to life while staying mindful of budget requirements and NPB’s branding.
The design centers on baby-like features that resonate with infants aged 4–6 months. The top nut has an expressive, friendly face, while the rounded peanut-shaped belly adds texture and dimension. Peanut-like feet add balance and charm.
Little Peanut is more than a toy. It’s a health education tool. A custom die-cut hangtag I concepted and designed features a scannable QR code that gives parents trusted guidance on introducing peanut foods early to help reduce allergy risks.
The plushie has quickly become a beloved character for the National Peanut Board. It has been such a success that Little Peanut even evolved into a fully animated character.
